Welcome Back to the Summer Terms

welcome back cobham primary newsletter

Welcome back to the Summer Terms,

Hope every family had a great break and everyone enjoyed the fantastic weather! We were so lucky! But now we are back and raring to make a difference to the children’s progress in the last two terms of the year! Hope you were all pleased with the children’s reports. I enjoyed reading them and commenting upon them. Please do, if you can find them, return the slip with any comments that you would like to share.

An official welcome to Miss Finelli, who is leading our Year 5 during the next two terms. She has visited on numerous occasions last term and cannot wait to take on such a brilliant class. We warmly welcome her to our team.

The children have a great day today as each class is participating in a Rock Steady Workshop! Do ask about it at the end of the day! We know that we have some budding rock stars! The Talent Show proved that at the end of last term!

My assembly this morning was all about ‘Families.’ Having spent time with mine, it reminded me of the strength and support that they have given me. We had a great example from one of our wonderful families, who visited India in the holiday and provided children in a school, with fantastic resources to aid their learning. When the boys Arran and Arjan were asked why they did this, their response was ‘to help children who are not so fortunate as us at Cobham.’ Acts of such kindness and thoughtfulness during a time when the world seems to lay blame for all manner of reasons, just makes my heart have faith in ensuring that our children, with your undeniable influence, will make the world a better place.

My challenge to the children in assembly this morning was to ‘Be Kind.’ Last term, more children than usual seemed to have forgotten this simple request and I have asked every child to be the very best that they can be. Not much to ask.
