Welcome back to Term 4

welcome back cobham primary newsletter

Dearest Families,

Hope half term was full of fun, making memories and some relaxing. I love this term as the mornings and evenings get lighter and it is simply a term full of promise. The children will have a great time learning – whilst having fun!

Book Week begins on the 28th February and Mrs Resoda, before she left us to have her baby, planned a great week of activities for the children to enjoy. Don’t forget World Book Day on the 3rd March if your child wishes to participate and dress up as their favourite book character. They can wear their costume all day! Apart from those that have PE during the day!

Maths Week begins on the 21st March and again Mrs Joshua has planned a fantastic week too! We are incredibly lucky!

Thursday 24th March at 2.30pm is a Stay and Share session for Years 1 – 6, with Year R on Tuesday 19th March. 1 parent for every child is allowed to attend. More details will follow in due course.

Reading is still our focus this term and apart from children learning their spellings, reading will be the only other homework! (mostly!) You have been phenomenal in supporting this ‘reading drive’ and we hope you can up the ante and maintain yours and the children’s efforts this term! On the 4th March Dr Crowther, with a group of children, will be showing our KS2 parents what our new READING THEATRE strategy looks like! Any KS2 parents are welcome to join us in the school hall from 2.30pm. Be great to see as many of you as we can fit in!

At the end of term we will have our usual Easter activities and again for our new families, more details will be with you during the term!

On Friday 1st April at 2pm – we will be welcoming you all to school for our Easter Bonnet Parade which will start at 2.30pm. Again information will follow, but I know many of you need to know dates in advance! You will be able to buy some refreshments – as well as having a try at another Bottle Tombola stall- this time the funds raised will be supporting our amazing Year 6s leaving party celebrations.

THIS FRIDAY 25th February is a non-uniform day for Brooke House (Green) as they won the house points last term! The children must have worked hard as the points were incredibly high!

Amongst the great learning this term, there is also a panto and another Bounce session! It is going to be a busy term!

Hope everyone has a great day!
