Thank you’s and Updates!
Last week seems to have passed in a blur! Hope all our mums had a lovely day yesterday and that the children told you how lucky they are to have you all. Hope you liked the gifts organised by the PTA! So sweet.
Cobham’s World Book Day on Friday was amazing! The children looked fabulous and Mrs Kelly and Mrs O’Neill begged not to judge the children’s costumes next year, as it was so hard this year! Thank you to you and the children that went to such supreme efforts to give us a ‘Book Day’ to remember!
We loved having so many of you visit in the morning to read with the children. One of their favourite times I have to say! Thank you for taking the time to come along. It meant a lot to the children!
The ‘Readathon’ so far has raised over £1000 and this is totally overwhelming! Every penny raised will buy new books for the children’s reading corners in their classrooms and the children will help each class teacher to choose ensuring all their favourites are on the list!
Lily and Mrs Wakeman’s hair cutting fund raising event on Friday was a great success and both ladies are rocking their new haircuts! Brave ladies! Thank you to everyone that donated. Mrs Smith Climpson, you are simply an inspiration to us all and all our love is sent to you.
Our footballers deserve a mention from last week too! They made it to the final of the O’Reilly Shield and unfortunately lost the game, but I am so proud of all the players throughout the many games over the last few months, who played supremely well, with such sportsman/lady like qualities! Really well done to you all. I am proud of each and everyone of you!
Year 6 Raffle will be drawn today in the hall from 3pm as well as the Travelling Book Fair being here all week! Either in the infant playground or the school hall where possible!
On a strange note, if any adult needs to use a toilet at the start or the end of the day, please use the disabled toilet in the junior block facilities or come along to the school house! DO NOT use the children’s toilets for obvious reasons! My Year 5 boys were most affronted on Friday after school to find a man using the urinal in their toilet. No adult should be in the children’s toilets for any reason!
Enough of my ramblings this morning! Hope the children are thinking about auditioning for the Talent Show next week & are beginning to design their creations for the decorated egg and bonnet competitions for the end of term! This term is simply flying by!
