Dear Families,

A massive thank you to those that attended the McMillan Coffee afternoon led by the PTA. It raised well over £200 which is a great achievement. Also the children loved the Jeans for Genes Day and Wear it Pink for Breast Cancer and the money raised will be split equally between these two great charities!

A massive thank you to TCS who provide our school meals as they led amazing workshops to our KS2 children called Roots to Food! The dishes created were delicious! Not that there was much left once the children had tasted them! I hope the children have been inspired to cook the meal for you!

Walk on Wednesdays continues tomorrow with all children (except Year R) tackling our Walk a Mile on a Wednesday! Forecast is good for tomorrow but wellies and trainers at the ready please! Children will receive a sticker for their ‘Walk a Mile’ efforts and those children who walk to school or walk a little further than usual will receive a second one!

Joke Competition Day is this Friday! Hope the children have their best jokes ready to share with the class!

Looking ahead – Funky Hair Day -a favourite day for the children is on Thursday 18th October! This is a NEW date for your diary as it was requested at this term’s school council meeting. Your £1 donation on the day will be sent to the charity ‘Holding On Letting Go’ which is a charity to support children with bereavement in Kent. One of our children who benefit from this charity made the request and it seems appropriate to make Funky Hair Day a way of supporting this local charity.

Parents’ Evening for all classes (except Year R) will be on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th October! Year R’s Parents’ Evenings are in November! You will be able to book online from Monday 8th October, but we will confirm this once it is has been set up! We are having a few technical difficulties currently!

LOOKING AHEAD – It has been agreed that we are to host a Halloween Disco on Tuesday 30th October! This is the first week back after half term and a letter will be with you shortly with the details! Again – new date for the diary!

Hope the children are loving this term! We’ve had a great start to the new school year and I am very proud of their efforts, positive attitudes and great manners!

Kind regards,

Mrs Saunders
