Dear Parents & Children,
We have a great few weeks coming up at Cobham. Next week (beginning 26th June) is Sports and Health Week and these are the activities planned to remind the children that exercising and eating healthily are great for the mind, body and soul!
|Fitness sessions for every class throughout the day||Walk to Jeskyns- leaving at 9.30am||Sports Day and Giant Picnic – 10.30am start||Cobham Waddle in the afternoon||GB Athletes visiting Cobham to lead activities all day!|
The main double gates on the junior playground will be opened at 10.20am! Please wait here to be allowed entry. There will be no other access to the school site other than this gate on the day. Please only use the disabled toilet behind the junior block if you need to, NOT the children’s toilets please.
Our Giant Picnic will start as soon as the sports day events are over and we ask you to kindly leave the school site by 12.50pm so that the children can have a playtime before the afternoon session begins!
The forecast for next week does not look fantastic, but I will keep you updated if anything changes.
The whole team recently undertook our annual safeguarding training last week. This training is always quite harrowing but it is so important in ensuring that we keep all our children safe each and every day. I would just like to reiterate that if an older sibling is sent in to collect one of our children, we will always check with yourselves that this is the correct person to receive your child. We were asked to remind you that an older sibling is not responsible for the welfare and safety of their younger siblings.
Also the school bus is a public bus and we are a little concerned about how young some of the children are that take the bus to and from school. It is entirely up to you as parents of course, but if they are being supervised by their siblings, we are just concerned regarding the responsibility of this for the older child. The behaviour of the younger children can be somewhat challenging!
Sun hats & water bottles are a must this week! Please apply sun cream before the children come to school! It’s a scorcher this week!
We are looking forward to having a great few weeks.
