Term 2 Maths Newsletter Out Now!

Dear Parents,
Please click here for this term’s maths newsletter. I hope you enjoy looking at all the ‘maths at home’ photographs as there are truly amazing examples. Thank you!
Below is a list of ideas of how you can continue to explore maths at home in real life contexts:
– Make decorations – consider patterns in colours, shapes or symmetry.
– Study calendars in the countdown to Christmas or other exciting events – talk about times, days, weeks, months.
– Festive baking – weighing, measuring, dividing and fractions to make sure everyone gets an equal share.
– Write Christmas cards – how many have been written or are left to write. Compare prices of stamps or even the distance a letter is going to travel.
– Prices of gifts – finding the total and change.
– Compare the 3D shapes and sizes of wrapped presents.
The list could be endless; maths is everywhere!
