Term 1 Week 5!

newsletter headers

Dear Families,

I hope everyone is having a great week! It’s been a great one here!

How amazing were our children who entered the Mini Marathon in London last weekend. The video and photos of the children made me cry. They did incredibly well! Super proud of each and everyone of them and you for getting them there – with the rail strikes. We are definitely up for getting more children involved next year. Thank you to Dr Crowther and her husband for supporting us in our attendance at the event! I went for a jog that evening – felt inspired! ?

The whole school walked a mile each day last week too! I loved it- although I have a dog that does not walk, so the children loved seeing her being carried one way and then her actually walking back! She always loves walking home!

Tomorrow during our assembly we have a talk from a representative from the Gravesham Foodbank. I want the children to learn more about how the foodbank helps the local community and how their donation next Friday 14th October will help so many families. I am always staggered by your generosity. If anyone can volunteer to take the items collected to the food bank – I’d be very grateful. My car is utterly useless for this.

Stay and Play next Tuesday 11th October- come to the small gate by the back of the hall and we will direct you! Again visit the younger child first, those of you that have more than one child!  Of course it is DONUT day too! So do pop to the playground to collect boxes ordered and buy donuts! We are a healthy eating school and we have completed lots of exercise recently – so indulge!

Gates! In the mornings please do wait at the hall gate and front gate to be let in. A handful of parents are accessing the car park gate (which may sometimes be open to let team members in) and sending children in early! They have just appeared in what could be an unsupervised classroom, we do open the gates most days well before 8.45am so please do be patient! School officially starts at 9am but we know the earlier opening helps with easing congestion for you and getting to work sooner.  Also for breakfast club – please do not park in this car park or walk across this area as we are all arriving at different times! Basically do not use the team car park for any reason! ?

World Mental Health Day is on Monday 10th October and I will lead a Wake Up and Shake Up session and an assembly on Monday and each class will do a few activities to remind the children of the power of positive mental health. I still only have 7 ladies interested in the Well–Being course on Tuesday 18th October- I need at least 10 to go ahead!

Halloween Disco on Thursday 20th October – don’t forget! I’ll send details out next week!

Parents Meetings are scheduled in our diary for the Tuesday 8th and Thursday 10th November 2pm – 5.30pm. Parents of children with SEN will be later in the term to coincide with reviewed provision plans. Again – more details on how to book will be with you soon. Just giving you the heads up!

Enjoy the sunshine today!
