Good luck our class of 2017-2018!

Dearest families, children, teaching team and governors,

This has been another amazing year. All the children have made fantastic progress and we have had the best set of results in the EYFS, Phonic Tests, KS1 and KS2 tests that we have seen for many years. This does not happen without consistently great teaching, but more importantly it would not have happened without the love, care and positive relationships that have been developed with the children year on year. Cobham children are truly special as are the team that work alongside them.

It is a sad day for so many reasons. The first being that we will be saying farewell to our truly superb Year 6. They have shone like the stars that they are and we truly wish them the very best as they move to their secondary schools. My, how those schools are lucky to have such bright, confident, strong minded children. The world will be a better place with them in it. Good luck our class of 2017-2018.

In assembly this morning, we hopefully gave Mrs Heap a great send off. Michelle has worked at Cobham for 11 years and she has always been the consummate professional, amazing teacher and outstanding SENCO. Our children could not have been in better hands. We will miss her humour, her stories, her dedication, her warmth and her amazing way with words. From all of us here at Cobham, we wish her much love for her future life in Dubai! A great void will be felt when we return in September. I am still in denial.

Often with sadness at Cobham -comes a wonderful ray of happiness. Our Miss Smith will return to us as Mrs Rose after her forthcoming wedding. We again wish her and her future husband the most wonderful day and may their marriage be full of love, laughter and happiness. Hope your day is simply wonderful.

All that is left for me to say is THANK YOU!

Thank you to the children who make me smile and laugh each and every day. I could not be more proud of them. I know how lucky I am to be the head at Cobham.

Thank you to you- all our families who support, guide and nurture our children in our aim to helping them to become the best that they can be. We may not always get everything right, but I doubt there is a better team out there that tries as hard as we do.

Thank you to my team-who truly raise me up-whose most capable hands I put the children in, each year, and how tirelessly they work to ensure that we are all the best that we can be. They deserve this holiday and I cannot thank them enough for all their support, commitment and laughter each day. Love and respect you all for all that you do – above and beyond.

Thank you to our Governing Body, who continue to challenge me as a Head to ensure that improvements at Cobham are made year on year! Do love a challenge!

Finally – a personal thank you to Mrs Styles – whom without I would be even more insane than I appear! You have my back every day and I , (we) would not survive without you!

I know the Year 6s final assembly this afternoon will be an emotional one, but we intend to give them a great send off!

All that is left for me to say is I hope that you all have a wonderful summer and that great memories are made.

Much love, thanks and gratitude,

Jacqui Saunders
