End of term!

Dearest Families,
Well this term has flown by in a sea of activities – Home Visits, Bounce, Mental Health Day, Well-being sessions, Marathons, Walk a Mile, Phonics, Time Table Rockstars, RE Festivals (well half of them!) & last night’s Halloween Disco – alongside a whole heap of learning! The children have had a great first term! We will be inviting you to parent meetings just after half term to hear how fabulous your children are and how much progress they have made!
I have some ‘thank yous’! – Our ‘DBS army of reading parents’ are the first – you have been phenomenal and every teacher at some point during the term has mentioned how grateful they have been for your time and support. I hope you are happy to continue with this most generous gift of your time. You are often reading with the children who need that extra support and we cannot thank you enough.
Thank you to Mr Burns, Mrs Clarke, Mrs Serantes and Mrs Styles who supported the disco last night. It was a busy and hot one! To the parents who turned up very late to collect their children, I was actually most upset. Events such as these are time consuming and it had certainly been a long day, let alone a long week and term.
Thank you to my amazing team. They have been phenomenal in meeting the challenges and demands placed upon them this term. I am truly blessed, as are your children to have such dedicated and caring colleagues. The wealth of training (often in their own time) has been invaluable and required. Alongside a demanding job – both mentally and physically – I could ask no more of any of them. On that note – please do send any email communications that you have, not to the class teacher but via the school office or myself. I feel quite protective that my team are being over burdened by the expectation to reply to you when they should be teaching. We can then field any messages appropriately. Your child’s reading record book is also a great way to make a note.
I would also like to thank our Governing Body, who are going above and beyond in their roles to support the school and myself. I hope I say thank you enough.
There’s another group that raise me up each day- I am blessed to have them. They hopefully know who they are.
I hope the break is a good one! On our return, there will be ‘Glow in the Dark Dodgeball’ and the 2nd half of rescheduled RE workshops that you so kindly supported the cost of in the first week! So much to look forward to!
Many thanks,
Jacqui
