End of term – Happy Easter!

Dearest Families,
Where has this term gone? Madness! But what a great term it has been.
The children have worked hard. My team have worked hard. I have worked hard! We will deserve a break when it comes!
This week is always a lovely week! The Talent Show on Tuesday was fantastic. We were incredibly proud of all the children that took part. A lovely afternoon being entertained by our phenomenal children. Thank you to Mr Burns and Miss Pretious for organising this. Rocksteady children performed to their parents on Tuesday- I know they loved doing this. Absolute rock stars in the making. The PTA organised and led a very well attended Easter Egg Hunt at Owletts last weekend- thank you to them and Owletts for organising this very special event.
The KS2 Bake Sale was hilarious! Apologies for the queues – so proud that we are such a healthy eating school!!!
The slabs of cakes that were cut were my kind of portions – I hope they went down a treat last night! Prizes will be given in tomorrow’s assembly. Impossible to choose.
Tomorrow morning is a great one – Our Trophy Assembly, where a child from each class has been nominated for one of 4 trophies that we give 3 times a year, which are – Citizenship, Talent, Effort & Achievement -and then out of the 7 children nominated for each cup across the school, an overall winner is chosen by the team to earn the trophy. I always cry! It is a great achievement to be nominated. It’s my favourite assembly.
After this will be the Egg Hunt around the school, where there is a prize for everyone and then the Egg Rolling and Bonnet Parade to end the morning. I have been egg rolling for 28 years! This event, which is now very much part of Cobham’s annual tradition ‘came with me’ from my previous school. Think it’s my finest hour! The children love it! It’s silly, funny and very stinky. So make sure the eggs are hard boiled please!
After all of this- will be a much deserved break. I hope all our children have a good rest. I hope all our families are OK. It’s been tough for quite a few of you this term, I know.
As always I am indebted to my team and those that hold me up each day on tougher days. Thank you is never enough.
Wishing you all a great Easter.
