Dear all,

The children look fabulous in their jeans and pink items! Think I might change the school uniform to pink! Thank you for the £1 donations for the two charities. I know what great causes they are and fund raising events such as these contribute to the great work that they do.

Next week is Walk a Mile a Day and we love doing this with the children at the start of each day. Please make sure that they have a spare pair of trainers or wellies and a waterproof jacket as we intend to walk a mile even if the weather is not great! Reception Class will not be taking part this term, but will join us when they are a little older and legs a little longer!

Walk on Wednesdays is also a new initiative that Kent have been asking schools to promote and where you can walk to school, I know that many of you do! They are asking schools to encourage families to walk just a little bit more, so even if you parked at the Meadow Rooms and walked through the village to school, this would constitute as a little bit more!

Children will be given a Walk on Wednesday Passport on Monday and the children can collect stickers each Wednesday if they genuinely walk to school. Many of you that drive will no doubt say that this appears unfair, but we intend to carry on the Walk a Mile on a Wednesday during the year, so that all children can earn their stickers at some point!

Don’t forget the McMillan Coffee Afternoon on Thursday 27th September at 2pm in the School Hall. Do come along and support the charity with a donation towards a cuppa and a piece of cake. Leftovers will be available at the end of the school school day for a donation too.

On another note, our lovely Mrs Rodgers, one of our two fabulous Road Crossing Patrol ladies has secured a teaching assistant post in another school and therefore will be leaving us in a few weeks. I cannot thank Karen enough for being one half of the formidable duo in ensuring the children’s and everyone’s safety in crossing the ever increasingly busy road outside our school. She will be sorely missed but I know how much she will love her new role. Good luck Karen and thank you! If anyone is interested in taking on this role, do contact us and we can provide further information.

Have a great weekend!

Kind regards,

Mrs Saunders
