Bits and Bobs from Cobham

Morning all,
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! The weather is certainly being kind right now!
A few bits and bobs!
Wizard of Oz!
This Thursday 16th September – M&M productions are visiting Cobham and performing the Wizard of Oz to Years 1 – 6 throughout the day! The children always love their very professional and slick performances! We love bringing a theatrical experience into school!
Sir Linkalot
Sir Linkalot (Andy Salmon) is visiting Cobham this Friday (17th Sept) to conduct a day of workshops with all our children and team, which is very exciting. He will be talking to us about his award winning app we bought earlier this year that is transforming how to commit to memory the spelling of tricky words, all the way from was, two and they up to manoeuvre, fulfil and onomatopoeia. It’s achieving incredible results, particularly with those who find spelling an issue.
He’ll be working with all age groups (Reception to Year 6) comprising whole year group presentations, teacher training and a 30 minute Zoom demo for parents at 4.30. Many of you joined us last time, but please do ‘hop on’ this time if you didn’t!

Meet and Greets 1.30pm – Tuesday 14th September
Teachers will send out the links to their Meet and Greet sessions by the close of today, if they haven’t already! If you have more than 1 child, we always urge you to join the teacher of your youngest child.
Unwell children
Please do not send the children to school if they are feeling unwell and certainly not before you do a lateral flow test! We have already had to send 3 very poorly children home today, all of whom I am certain are just very poorly and nothing to do with Covid, but we need to be cautious at this time. Please do be understanding of the task we have to undertake right now! Thank you!
Reception Class started today!
How lovely to welcome our youngest children to Cobham. They came in, all in all, quite happy and are having a great time this morning! I always forget how tiny they are!
Hope everyone has a great week! It feels like it is going to be a busy, fun, but challenging one already! Need more coffee!
Kind regards,
Jacqui
